The Evansville Pipe Band's 5th annual Burns night, a celebration of poet Robert Burns and all things Scottish, will forgo formal fare for traditional "pub grub" at this year's event, which will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at The Pub, 1348 Division St.
Dinner will follow at 7, featuring a menu of fish and chips, beef stew and "mash" (mashed potatoes), "bangers" (sausage) and, of course, haggis, the traditional Scottish pudding made of calf or sheep organs boiled with suet, seasonings and oatmeal in an animal's stomach.
