The newspegs coming out of Ottawa's mountain parks all through autumn were as plentiful as the falling leaves, but none quite substantial enough to justify stories in their own right. Most tempting was the decision, apparently by Canadian Heritage Minister Sheila Copps herself, to install life-size statues of Wayne Gretzky and Lucy Maud Montgomery on the grounds outside the fine old stone parks administration building in Banff.
