Last week saw the launch of a Chinese version of Anne of Green Gables, the classic Canadian novel. The new version of the book was published to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The original version of the book, by Lucy Maud Montgomery, was completed by Montgomery in 1904 and published in 1908. Chinese copyright for the book was received from Montgomery's grandson.
