I'd hate to think of myself as the intellectual equivalent of a cauliflower, although frankly, a comparison with a banana would worry me as well.

such a mixture of scents, the salty ocean air stirring the odors of blood and sweat that is ingrained into the crevices of the oak decking, the powdery sulfur smell wafting from the depths of the cannons, the smell of sawdust from the stern of the ship as the carpenter makes repairs, and paint from the bow...the smell from the ropes as they stretch the billowy sails, and the succulent beef from the galley..........oh, sea life!!!
