I've been on holiday ever since I quit my last wage-earner job 30 years ago. Also, I live in Hawaii, the holiday capital of the world. For me every day is a holiday.
BTW, Merry Christmas. I used to dislike the commercialism of Christmas, but now it seems rather festive with everyone in a good mood.

What are you people doing on a saturday afternoon?
I plan to watch college football (my favorite sport) and drink beer. Two great games on TV today: Southern Cal vs UCLA and the SEC championship.
After football, I'm off to Waikiki beach for a dip in the ocean to cool off. And more beer at a sidewalk cafe across the street from the beach. (No, I'm not driving.)

a humungus hello and I love ya to Night and Jay and PIAB Mono Noah b starr, pen, same, and well so on and so on and so on.
Got more than two hours sleep last night so felt a little punch drunk. Am getting all ready for my street ministry for the 23rd in the night. i already have butterflies, i love that time. the house looks to pretty and Christmasy and I have made so many goodies i really can't stand the sight or smell of them. but everyone else and company are fine with it.
it has been very minus zero and a couple of nights I felt asleep exhausted on the couch, no pillow(owy neck) no blankies(brr) and the heat was off. we all woke up like popsicles. Needless to say i hurried and turned on the heat, made pancakes with real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, hot coffee with cream, all the usual to make up for my blunder. the whole family felt like they were arthritic from frozen hands and toes. oh well... to err is human right?

I had my ears pierced when i was little don't know exactly how old I was but I know I was very scared.... then when I finished my primary school, after 8th grade I pierced them again and I had three earings in my left ear and two in my right ear and after finishing secondary school, finally my mom let me pierce the upper part of my right ear so now I have three earings in one ear and three in the other... :D I love earings... :D

wow, I just discovered this thread. This forum is like peeling an onion, so many layers(borrowed from shrek)
My aunt pierced my ears with a needle and ice when I was in 6th grade, ouch..they closed over and I had them done again with a gun. When I was in 8th grade I did the second hole in my left ear myself with ambesol and a needle...I was going to see The Stray Cats, my first concert ever and I guess I thought it would make me look cool. :p
I'll only wear earrings now if I have to get super dressed up.

I get what your saying.. it's more connected to tattos though, because you should never do a thing like that just for others to see you should do it so you it would make you feel good..
But as for the earings it doesn't really mater since i'm growing my hair long in order to make dreadlocks so people can't see my ears anyway..
I just did it for the fun.. i like it so i just thats what matter..
All earrings Night? Have you tried the sterling silver or the kind for sensitive ears?
About what papayahed said it is true one of my best friends has this problem as well..
when he first pierced his ear he got it so infected it was terrible he had to remove the earing and was rahter painful....
But the second time (after the ear healed of course) he used silver earings.. and now he has three..
No infection no nothing.. so you should check it out... :)

Aimus if you ever turn up here, so 5 steps to learning to stare at people are??
A, yes, staring at poeple, the five step program:
1. Open your eyes: this is very important, and must not be omitted, since it will impair the sight making it more difficult to procede with the next step.
2. Find another person: Again, it is imperative that you find someone, as without it, you will have nothing to stare at.
3. Make eye contact: This step is fairly simple, and needs little explaination.
4. Keep eye contact: At first this might seem somewhat difficult, especially with a moving target, but it can be achieved with some practice.
5. Reflection: Probably the most important step, take a breath, and analyze what happened. Did the person avert his or her eyes? Did anything strange happen to the face? If so, could you keep a straight face? How did it feel? These are very important questions to ask yourself.
Now for an advanced action, consider step 6. as a bonus:
This step actually comes before step 5. And involves funny faces, blinking rapidly or raising an eyebrow ever so slightly. Don't overdo it. It should only be done occasionally, as this is an advanced technique, and difficult to master.
Hopefully this wonderfull 5 step program is of help to you.
Just Remberber, "Don't just look, STARE!"

argh I cannot look at another piece of chocolate or a cookie or cake or anything like that. i prefer plain food with lots of veggies so eating this other stuff-oh I cannot even think about it
and the day before yesterday some dear friends showed up with about thirty more gifts and I could care less about material things. and not only that but she brought nearly three pounds of butter cookies-three hundred cookies to be exact.
I will be respectful and grateful and freeze some for use-the rest I shall dip in chocolate and distribute to my street children and adults and smile when I see the happiness on their sweet faces.
oh for a plate of asparagus and artichokes and tomatoes and soothing cool cucumber and a nice baked potatoe right now......
