It wasn't that weird.
It was a weird situation, and apart from biting the knife after pressing it against my cheek whilst running backwards and smiling evily, and that soccer team talk, it was pretty natural.
I don't know why we didn't just, all of us, jump the angry police officer.
It wouldn't have been hard.
Indyben
07-04-2010, 09:54 PM
maybe because he had a knife and you didn't want anyone to get hurted?
Heathcliff
07-04-2010, 09:57 PM
I think I was just trying to be smart.
I don't know why I wasn't scared.
It looked more like a metal popsicle stick with a pointy edge rather than a knife.
It was really blunt and it bent esily, just like solder, but perhaps a little harder.
Indyben
07-04-2010, 10:08 PM
lol you told all that by biting it?
Heathcliff
07-05-2010, 04:01 AM
Blunt - I didn't die.
Weak - It bent and snapped pretty easily.
And I saw it.
Indyben
07-05-2010, 05:19 AM
herm...I guess so
Heathcliff
07-05-2010, 05:50 AM
Hehehe and it is my dream.
So it could have been made out of icecream!!
Oddly enough, there is never anything that 'impossible' in my dreams.
Indyben
07-05-2010, 06:38 AM
that's all that seems to happen in my dreams is the impossible stuff.
Heathcliff
07-05-2010, 06:42 AM
For me it is all real.
So, things like flying, swimming underwater for hours, nah.
I still think you do in dreams whatever your subconcious would do in that situation.
Half the time, despite all being possible, these are situations that rarely occur.
So it is always interesting.
Indyben
07-05-2010, 06:44 AM
so if you were confronted by a man with a knife you'd try and bite the knife?
Heathcliff
07-05-2010, 06:46 AM
If I was confronted by a popsicle stick made out of solder, then probably.
I'd just do the running away part, for the knife.
Indyben
07-05-2010, 06:46 AM

Ah! Curses! Back to the violin and the the pipe! By the way, Anwen isn't German, or at least, she wasn't this morning. 'Tis Welsh.
TurquoiseSunset
07-07-2010, 09:18 AM
Ah, so are you both Welsh? I thought she was German, because you lived in Germany and it sounds very like a Afrikaans/Dutch/German kind of name... :)
dafydd manton
07-07-2010, 09:40 AM
To be honest, it was just a bit of messing about when she illlustrated one of my books. She is a actually Ann......WITHOUT AN E!!! Apparently, these things are important!

Hw very wise. Mind you, we got caught out. My eldest daughter is Vicky, and registered as such, but various school teachers tried to call her Victoria, since Vicky (they said) is a shortening. Wrong! Net result, one very irate child,
TurquoiseSunset
07-07-2010, 09:55 AM
Ah man, that sucks. That's another thing, I will also consider all the abbreviations and nick names that could arise from a child's name. I've heard seriously unfortunate ones...
dafydd manton
07-07-2010, 09:59 AM
You can still get caught. My mother wanted to give me the middle name Ieuan, therefore DIM. Bad enough in English, but the word "dim" means "nothing", in Welsh.

Don't give your kids normal names! I might dislike having my name spelled in weird ways but it's always a conversation starter. "Oh, like the band/Bible/system/make up/whatever?" it shows you what kind of person you're talking to.
TurquoiseSunset
07-08-2010, 03:50 AM
it shows you what kind of person you're talking to.
How does it do that? My name doesn't say who I am...
Genocide
07-08-2010, 03:54 AM
It shows who the person you're talking to is. Sorry about that. The reaction they have to your name is often the way you know if this new friendship is going to work out. If they say your name sounds "daft" you know you have a problem...
TurquoiseSunset
07-08-2010, 03:57 AM
Oh, I get it... Well, I think if someone was as tasteless as that it would only be a matter of mere minutes before you would realise their friendship isn't worth it anyway, without them having to insult your name, hehehe.

Dated almost a year and broke up with them on graduation.... a success says I!
Are people weird about your name, then?
TurquoiseSunset
07-08-2010, 04:38 AM
No, not really...I don't come across people with my name often, but it's still well known. I guess, it's because there was a famous South African with the same name. No, it's not Charlize :p
The only trouble I have with my name is that people spell it wrong. That goes for my name and surname. I don't mind so much when people from other races get them wrong though, because my surname especially is very Afrikaans (Dutch). My name is Hebrew originally...but very simple actually. Only five letters :D

Kewl. I like bocancini because my grandpa always gave it to us. Teehee. Whilst waiting for the bus (for the first time in my life) I saw an orange balloon rustling down the busy street. It made my day. My brother said it would make his day if it popped and it did. Then there was a purple one and it didn't pop. Now i'm happy.

My budgie died tonight. Well technically it was my mother's budgie, since I bought it for her birthday several years ago (she had budgies as a little girl). Although, the care of the little fellow still fell on me entirely, so I might as well call him mine. You really do get attached to the little guys.
I think I'm done with small short-lived pets, I had to give up rescuing rats from the shelter because of that.

Haha, reminds me that when I used to work with exotic birds, we would wear ear plugs in the large bird room because of the noise, there's nothing quite like 5 cockatoos screaming in tandem. By comparison, the mild chirping and banging of a budgie is sweet music.

Haha, well I've been dogless for about a year now. I think I need a more stable and established home before I invest in a new dog. I barely know what I'll be doing next year so it's not the best time to embark on that big a commitment.
Edit: In the meantime I've got my cat for company.

Yes, I alwaya advise people not to get a dog until they are stable enough for them... You know the old saying - "Can't teach an old dog new tricks" It's a true statement. A dog needs routine and stability. Not to mention lot's of attention. Cat's are a lot easier... So long as they are fed and warm, they're happy. :)
