my daughter desi mocks me that I talk to you all and love you. she thinks you are all axe murderers and I should get some therapy. she's into her emily the strange , tatoos and piercings from here to there period. hangs with a group of kids that think parents should be euthanized.Hehe, :D I'm glad you're the sort of parent that allows her to do it. That was me in high school, too. I've gained some respect and lost most of the jewelry since then (the piercings have stayed), but I still look back and think how awesome it was of my parents to support my interests, however silly they got. They were the same when they were that age, though, so I think they kind of enjoyed it. :p

oh yuk it up Kilted. You have no idea how she goes on and on. And listen here if I find out even one of you ARE axe murderers I am going to be some put out. Em when I saw your incredible one eye( I assume you have a matching pair) and saw how gorgeous it is I find it hard to believe you were like the Dez. Perhaps we should have a thread about what were were REALLY like as teens. Of course that raises the dilemma for those who ARE just teens. I mean who as a rebellious teen wants to share that fact, it takes all the mystique out of rebelling. who wants adults to reply"oh how adorable, good luck with that piercing through you neck thing. Sounds sweet....ugh.

When I finally get fed up with my hair (it's past my waist now, but I'd say it's got about another year before it all gets chopped off), I plan to bleach it and dye it a bright electric blue. Something similar to the smiley: :D I also plan to celebrate my eventual return to college with a new eyebrow ring (don't have any of those yet). I'm afraid I don't think I'll ever completely grow out of my sillier tastes.

no disappointment whatsoever. that is not what i meant. i meant that i couldn't see that because your eye had no dark makeup on it,so i couldn't imagine. and hey about the blue hair. I wore my hair past my knees and then for what reason some time ago i had sixteen inches cut off( i thought i would die) and my hair was blue for a while too. i taught dance and felt like it. no other moms would sit near me at school meetings. when they got to know me they were completely confused because they all thought me a gentle naive sort of person. but to me creativity is creativity. my hair is longer now and back to blonde but I kind of envy you Em. hey have you ever seen a piercing done thru the front of the face or one at the back of the neck. there is this guy we all call Scarey Cheek Face that had them done. I was just wondering if that would be real painful? And Desiree got an awesome tatoo in Hebrew across her calf that says "faith" which puzzles me since she said there is no God and she hates religion! but it is beautiful.

But I'm biased, as it's my favorite color. :D

I've only seen pictures of piercings through the cheek, but I have seen someone with the back of their neck done. The guy who pierced my labret (http://www.kissmytattoo.com/labret.jpg) has lots of piercings, and plenty of scars from where he's removed them. Judging my his legs, he once had piercings all the way up the front of his shins, to look like boot laces. Kind of cool, but I imagine it got annoying. My best friend has a tattoo on her upper back that says "passion" in Greek (her family is Greek) with a star behind the first letters. It's very beautiful, too, especially because she has a lovely neck.

(it's past my waist now, but I'd say it's got about another year before it all gets chopped off)Emily, when you decide to get your hair shorter, maybe you can donate it to a charity. There are places which accept hair to make wigs for children with cancer.

It would be such a shame to let so much hair go waste on hairdresser's floor.

Hello!!! louse !!!! (is that how you call it in English..?) so i had in the most horrible pain and sorrow to cut my hair since my hair is not capable of treat such a thing it's all tengeled up..

I stil have split ends though.:S :DOh, I have split ends, too, but when they get too ugly I trim the bottom of my hair a little. About an inch every year or two. My hair is pretty strong, though, so it stays more or less healthy without much effort on my part (knock on wood).

Willow, I'm so sorry about the lice! :eek2: I have lots of respect for people who have the patience to grow dredlocks. There's a young man I see on the street who has them down past his waist, and that's with them in a knot. I think they're ~*beautiful*~, but my co-workers think I'm weird. :p

Hey people I need some help :D
Im offon holiday in a week to Egypt where apparntly they/we/whatever pronpoun I should use are hosting The African Cup of nations for the first time in 60 years apparntly a pretty big deal. NOw can anyone tell me if ther is a way of me finding out the scores/ watching this thing over the computer??Because knowing my relations as I do well end up on the topic of football, and I really need to know what on earth Im talking about. And plus it would really impress my dad big time a Im angling for staying in the wow Im impressedwith you frame of mind , for the time being at least. so anyone in Africa or who figures out a way for me to watch Id be eternally grateful
night::D

Weeping Willow
01-24-2006, 03:08 PM
Hi night! Almost all the games are on Euro sport and ESPN..
As you know the hosting country is Egypt. the favorite teams to win are Cameron lead by the Striker of FC Barcelona From Spain - Samuel Eto'o which in the opening game Vs Angola Scored 3 goals and lead his team for victory 3 - 1. The seconed Team is Cote d'Ivoire or else know es Ivory coast which is Lead by Didier Drogba Lead Striker For FC Chelsea From England in the Opening match he lead them to Victory ! -0 over Marroco (Sorry Adil... :D )... The third one is The hostes - Egypt Lead by Ahmed Mido the Striker Of Tottenham Hotspur From England as well.. in the openig game he scored the first goal on the win of Egypt over Libya 3 - 0.. There are other good teams like Togo Nigiria and some more.. i know what i said here is rather Brief but you can get all you want in here http://www.egypt2006.com.eg/english/ and if you need more then just ask or PM my.. it would be my pleasure to assist in anyway :D.....

:D

Weeping Willow
01-24-2006, 05:41 PM
it's only started... hehe....
Now it's the Houses phase.. then the quarter finel - semi finlel and finel..
Let me see for you.. i take it you are an Egypt fan.. (we can call you a fan.. hehe.. :D )
Ok quarter finel will be at the 03/02/2006 the semis in the 07/02/2006 and the finel at the 10/02/2006.. ok..
So by now Egypt had two games.. in house A .... they won 3:0 and got a draw with Marroco.. so it's gives the 3 points for win and 1 for the tie.. which put's them bhinde Ivory Coast in the house cause Ivory coast won their two games so they have 6 points.. did you lose me??
So if egypt wins Ivory coast on the 28 they will end upi 1st in the house.. if not then thier is a small.. really small chance that Marroco will pass them but not a big one..
So basicly Egypt will go to the Quarter finels like 95 %... ok'..
Any thing else?

Nightshade
01-24-2006, 05:53 PM
Hummm You knpow I only watch like 6 matches every 4 years. The world cup opening match (love the show:brow: ) The games engand play the games Egypt play. The semi finals and the worl dcup finals..
Any other matches I watch I do so only really to listen to the comentatores yelling at the players ( fore somereason english ones are so calm and boring, I prefer the screaming accusing egyptiens) oh and to watch the various reactionsof male relatives and to needle them by supporting the opposition.
At one point my sisters and I found out the song to the deadly rivial club of my dads and taughgt it to my 5 year old sister --told her it was the song youi had to sing when the football was played. Now that was fun.... :D
ooooooh I have another little sister now I wonder if I can still rember the song?

Ohj tyherre is no way Ill o and actually see them. Now if I was still living in egypt I could see the stadium fromm the roof of our housee and somtimes you couldnt slep at night for the screaming crowds or the awful fireworks that shook the windows. But M'Lord, I was enquiring of the young lady. I am quite certain what you have been doing and are doing and will be doing. Being a superhero of the highest calibre.
Hasia slept fitfully all night. She has been suffering anxiety separation for a little while so has not been in her crib. I have worked with many such babies, she will learn to let go once more and feel safe in her crib. But when I snuck out of bed in the still black early morning I stepped right on her Calliou doll. "Do you know the four seasons?" he asked rather loudly in english and then french. She stirred but then went back to sleep. That doll has freaked me out so many times at night! but oh well it is hardly his fault.

Has anyone read Sons and Lovers by DH Lawrence? How did you find it?I read Sons and Lovers about 15 years ago. I thought the language was rather clear and also the story was interesting since it was based on Lawrence's own expriences.

Oh, I found it rather easily, right next to all the other Lawrence books at the Library! :D

I read Sons and Lovers about 15 years ago. I thought the language was rather clear and also the story was interesting since it was based on Lawrence's own expriences.

I haven't read the book, not recently nor 15 years ago. Indeed, back then I was not exactly a great reader. Not of books, at least. I was (*proudly*), however, already in existence.

On another note, I finished To The Lighthouse yesterday and enjoyed it immensely. The book, not being done with it, that is. Reading Virginia Woolf is like creating a watercolour painting, breathing life into something so fluid and vapourous...so softly-toned, so deep, so detailed, and yet so "simple". The imagery is so subtle and the language washes over you like a watery layer of cerulean...

I gave up fast food.Like many Catholics I know, the religion came off in the wash with me, but the traditions and rituals have stuck like a grease stain. It's like some kind of crazy compulsion.

Anyway, yes. I'm observing Lent by giving up all internet but LitNet and e-mail (just the essentials, you know). I gave LitNet a trial run, but I just can't do without. ;) I suppose that means that's the one thing I really should give up, but I'm not Wonderwoman. Sue me.

EDIT: And candy, too, but I'm on a diet so that doesn't really count.

@miss tenderness: Well, I know someone who has about a year to finish his homework ('cause she's a student and we have all the time in the world, obviously) and still happens to leave it until the last (relatively spoken) moment.
Also, many people (not talking about me, oh, no) don't hand in their projects at all if they're not given a certain deadline.

Oh, so pretty,

And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real.

See the pretty girl in that mirror there:
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face,
Such a pretty dress,
Such a pretty smile,
Such a pretty me!

I feel stunning
And entrancing,
Feel like running and dancing for joy,
For I'm loved
By a pretty wonderful boy!

maybe it's a router or proxy somewhere causing you problems. Have you tried pinging google?

How are you spelling "goggle"?

Scheherazade
03-23-2006, 03:50 AM
Exactly the way it appears on their website: http://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8

But if you take off your 'goggles' and look around, you might be able to see things more clearly.

:p

Dear me! I saw the sky darken, and I heard the wind's howl pick up a few more voices for its choir, but I still presumed you'd never blow my house down and find me here!

Is anyone on Spring holidays?

Anon22

spring holidays are over for me... and this week feels like a second... while a year feel like a second as I get older? Better brace myself for that. Eighty-three years... one year feels like nothing... so nothing passes and it's Eighty-four, do we truly have time for anything?

Strange how the bottom seems a seemless unity with the above and the picture you painted me. (You did paint that, didn't you? My traced version above isn't as good. And you don't want to wrestle with Mililalil - he wouldn't like that.)

Kaltrina sends best regards to everyone on the forum. She says that I should convey her message that she is very busy because she has got a lot of office work to do but she miss all of us.

Dear Kaltrina, I hope to see you soon.

hugs and kisses Kal and the best of everything for you.
Here I am little bird and I have brought my suitcase and my golden angel globe that I wind up and listen to like a child at Christmas, hasia of course, I bought a halter to keep her on, believe me in t his case it is not unkind!. I have brought my keyboards,my notebook to jot down thoughts in of course, and some gifts wrapped up in silver and blue and rainbows for you Glady because Rachel has come to spend a couple of days with you in Neverland. And I and Hasia will take your hand and go whereever you want us to. Oh yes and I brought my camcorder and camera so I can encapsulate the memories into my scrapbook. How is that?

Hi rachel. Thanks a lot for gifts, although there was no need for them because It is a gift itself that you have came to visit Neverland.

It is lovely to see you. It is better if you come and visit Literature Network more than Neverland. :p
