hey sleepy while you are over here ( just an FYI) As I understand it all the libraries in the uk should allow a certain amount of free internet useage every day. ( thats if they carry a PC) so youll still be able to visit :D
HAve fun!

hehe :) thanks :)
i think the youthhostel where we'll be staying should have internet access too.. .. not for free though...
do i need a library card to enter? in that case i would need proof that i 'reside' in the town in question, right? hehe, i'll use the comp at the hostel :)
hahahaha..
yeah, I'm still at home... still got my finals coming up... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... only going on August 10...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it seems like forever

Well I m not sure about that sleepy becasue it differs from libraray to library, you should be able to go on as a visitor, strickly speaking at least once even if you live there however I cants see how they can not let you use the internet if they refuse to issue you with a card.
Take some ID and if you get somthing like it the contract /bill from the hostel and IM not sure they can say no, then.
Unless they are using the new experimental computer sysem in which case the computer would probably not allow you on the internet without a valid library card.

poor Willow,... what do you mean you got drafted? will you have to do training first or have you done that already and they'll send you straight into Lebanon?

isn't it ironic... in Germany, Jews can't be drafted... that is, they can get a letter but they don't even need to go through all the "conscientious objector" procedures..all they need to do is say "I'm a Jew, it's against my religion" and that's it... whereas in Israel everybody get's drafted...

Hi and so glad to say that I've just known about this web and like this so much !

But it's too difficult for me to understand well all things you write . Maybe my English's not only bad but also very bad ( TT___TT ) . I really want to express my thinking about every thing but It's spent too much time understanding .
What can I do , what should I do ? What a simple question : learn more và try more . So I'll only read your written until my English's better . Hope that day'll come soon ( =___= )

Thanks much for reading my silly thinking .

Have an unbroken day !

And she says the same thing again and I go: 'Oh i know...go back to bed!' So she asked herself in French where do you live and answered herself-they dnt do Frnech at her junior shcool so shes just learning it new. It is an awesome picture. I just love fractals, I can spend hours going through galleries. I got my current picture in this (http://www.fractalus.com/cheshirecat/gallery.htm) gallery, gallery number 34 but all of them are amazing. I may be changing that picture often. ;)

And thank you for the compliment on my hair. That's very sweet and random of you.

subterranean

I really like this one: http://www.fractalus.com/cheshirecat/beta_lyrae.htm

Idril
09-12-2006, 08:56 PM
Yes, she lists the programs she uses on this (http://www.fractalus.com/cheshirecat/programs.htm) page. I really have no idea how fractals work, I mean, I know they are created using mathmatical equations but I have no concept how you get such beautiful pictures by using math or how to manipulate things in order to change shapes and colors, I just like to enjoy the labor of others much smarter and more creative than I.

I'm being kicked off the computer now by my son who is anxious to play Runescape. Have fun looking at the fractals, be careful or you'll become as obsessed with them as I am.;)

I certainly don't mind, but I don't know if they mind. A lot of those sites are quite old, some of the copyrights have expired but the one I gave the link for looks like it's a little more recent. I was reading the copyright thing and it said that you can't take the image and change it and then claim it as your own and it says that you can't use it on your web page as background or something but you aren't going to do any of those things. It seems to me that using them as avatars and profile pictures is a pretty harmless use of them.

And Sub, I would love for them to have their own PC, it would solve a lot of agruements in this house about computer time. I'm seriously thinking about investing in a laptop for myself so at least I don't have to compete for time. Of course if they had their own PC, they would probably never leave the house, so maybe it's better this way until they learn the concept of moderation. ;)

that entirely depends on your definition of long. :p

ShoutGrace

Well, naturally . . . it's all relative. Whats a few hours, whats a few minutes? :D

We must also take into consideration unforeseen occurences . . . perhaps you have an idea about how much time you want to waste here that will be changed dramatically in the near future by RealLife.

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 05:39 AM
Well, fortunately the next reallife event is still about an hour away :) So that will be about the time spend in the fantasy world of litnet, where fairies and martians life happily ever after as do butterflies and wet cats. :D

ShoutGrace

It in fact be my favorite thread in the forums! :D

I glance at it again from time to time in order to refresh in my memory the worthiness of the conviction that cats are both evil and moral abominations.

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 05:54 AM
Indeed, evil! One of our cats recently tried to bring a bunny he caught into the house, but he couldn't quite get it through the cat hatch, because it was to big. Blood everywhere, and the worst thing is, before he could be caught, he pulled it through and ran all through the room with it, before running out of the door again.

Needless to say, he wasn't very intersted in his dinner that day. :)

ShoutGrace
09-16-2006, 05:58 AM
Needless to say, he wasn't very intersted in his dinner that day. :)

I am usually of the same persuasion after indulging in a mouthful of bloody rabbit. ;)

Too bad I wasn't there . . . I wouldn't have stopped until that little hellion's head was on a pike at the end of your driveway, a warning to all those felines scampering about in the area. :p

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 06:02 AM
Hey now, he is the best hunter in the street, he dominates the area, a sleek and agile cat, but deadly afraid of anything that makes a noise, and in the winter is too afraid to go outside. :D

I was very proud he caught that rabbit.

ShoutGrace
09-16-2006, 06:05 AM
Ah, he's got a softer side.

I can actually echo that sentiment. Every time my cat brought in birds (never rabbits!), I was a little proud of him. However, smelling the bird where he had left it behind the couch earlier that day, and subsequently fetching the carcass and disposing of it, really limited my appreciation of his feats.

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 06:14 AM
Well the good thing is, he usually just comes in to show his catch, then goes out again and eats it. :) He is very well behaved, but still, I would rather he makes a display outside where he can show what he has caught, instead of bringing it inside.

The problem with the rabbit was that is was just so big and very bloody. I can imagine the smell having a negative impact on the appreciation of the feat.

ShoutGrace
09-16-2006, 06:15 AM
The problem with the rabbit was that is was just so big and very bloody.

He sounds like a veritable warrior. :p

How old is he?

Oh, Hi Madhuri! Hi Themis!

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 06:25 AM
let's see, the oldest is 11, and there was a time when the ages of the cats were 2,4,8, so that would make him now about 7 years old, being the middle one.

And, yes he truly is a warrior, although he is actually very sedate, and don't like to fight, as the youngest cat often challenges him, and instead of smiting him down, which he is easily capable of, he just runs away and starts miauwing for someone to let him out of the room.

ShoutGrace
09-16-2006, 06:33 AM
Wow! For some reason I assumed that you had multiple dogs and that was all :p (when in fact you have cats and perhaps only one dog).

Someday I will likely have house cats (just to provide a little tension and interest to the household). I'm hoping that at that point I won't have to vaccinate them (as they are indoor animals) because vaccinations are incredibly expensive where I am living, and that's one of the main reasons why I haven't gotten a cat yet (that and the fact that I'm not sure if I can deal with an evil moral abomination running around my house at the moment :D).

AimusSage
09-16-2006, 06:39 AM
Well, every house can have at least one evil abomination running around, so if you don't have a goldfish, I see no problems. :D

I am not sure if you can stop them, if they (pans) are available, everyone will use them, but for cleaning, maybe you could fix turns in doing dishes, like Mon - Night, Tue - someone else, and so on. Just an idea, you can try if feasible. :D

hi folks, I'm back from London.
everything went fine and we had a great time.

hehe, I managed to stop the Stansted Express by accident, though, when we were going to the airport yesterday. kicked the assistance button in the toilet by mistake because i thought it was the flush...
when the conductor finally showed up after twenty minutes of beeping I stuck my head out of the train and shouted after her to say I set it off by accident.
everybody had a great laugh...
my professors reminded me for the rest of the trip not to press any buttons but i don't think he was angry :p

Oh really?! That's really cool. :thumbs_up I spent a lot of time in Grand Forks when I was in college, I went to Concordia but all my high school friends were at UND so there were a lot of late night trips back and forth. More than once I got stuck there, my friends would come up to get me after the bars closed with no thought of how I would get home and once they got to Moorhead, I couldn't not go, they'd driven all that way and really, I usually wouldn't even think of it until the next morning when it was time to get back...one time, I was stuck in GF for almost a week before I found a way back.  And then it was some guy who, I swear, my friends just picked up off the street, I'd never seen him before and he had no windows in his car, they were just covered in plastic and no radio and no heat...and it was January. But you know, the next time they came up to get me again, I still went without a firm return plan because sometimes, I'm an idiot. :p

But I'm older now and much more mature and wise and responsible. :D

And what do you mean attempting?

TEND

Themis, which text books is it you are avoiding these days? for me it's 700 more pages of Rousseau and lots of revision about 'youth'. well, at least it's not raining :)

I'm *wasted* ! studied till 3.30 a.m. this night, got up at 9!... still got 700 pages of Rousseau to go plus heaps of notes to revise... the exams on Monday, Miss T. pray for me :)
I like examns when it's subjects I like but this one I have to study as a requirement to get my degree. It's interesting enough but that doesn't mean i want to read literally thousands of pages just for a 20 mins oral exam :)

"The Civil Law" (law of property and law of obligations) by Dr.Koziol and Dr.Welser, "The International Civil Law" by God-knows-whom and, of course, the "ABGB" ('Allgemeines Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch') - the code.

The "KW" is THE textbook on civil law which is the biggest exam of my studies. *shudders* That's about one thousand pages.

I will be gone for a week, starting tomorrow. I will be visiting my brother this time, in Bangalore (city down south).

Its festive season here in India, with Diwali and EID coming up. I love this time of the year, bursting crackers, lighting up homes, the city looks beautiful.

If I get time i'll surely pop in here :)

I will be back next week!!! :D :)

Festival over.....me sad :( It was such a nice day.

Shopping was good, Miss T. :)

We went to buy sweets, and crackers. In the evening (its a festival celebrated in the evening till night), the city looks beautiful, with all the lighting and hustle-bustle, we lighted our house with candles, and diyas (a different form of light), and made rangoli (designs/decorations on the floor, usually entrances and corners), bursting crackers, and having good food....it was fun.....

Yes, Orange I am from India.

hey folks,
could somebody spare me a few braincells, please?
I'm at my boyfriend's place. he's at work. i could have gone home to my place but i stayed here to prepare something for my tutorial.
I want to tell my students about learning strategies and how to read a text. so far so good. now, the tutorial is on Monday morning 9 o'clock. I need to copy my handout on a transparency. The copyshop only opens at 9. So I stayed here to print it on a transparency, so I won't need to copy it.
Now it turns out I left half the texts I want to quote in my handout at my place!:crash: :crash: :crash: (replace the little computer with Sleepy's head)
So i'll do some other homework now and prepare my hand-out tonight (and I really mean at night, like from 9 p.m. onwards
