Family

We went to see the family today.
Mum was rushing around trying to find the gift cards she bought my second cousins Jack and Louis. She did last minute wrapping while I ate my breakfast (a turkey sandwich and two mince puffs).
On the stairs I could hear a faint sound that sounded like one of those musical cards that sing happy birthday. Mum and I tried to locate it but failed.
After we were all ready (Which was at about 5ish) we went to my Uncle Robert's. We go there before going to Auntie Molly's because mum gets lost (especially on the way home) and it's convenient because Uncle Robert lives near us. I took my portable DVD player because the journey to Auntie Molly's is rather boring and Uncle Robert and Amy (My aunt by marriage) make vague conversation (Like "are you still at school Emma?" Or "Do you still work there Margret? (My mother's name) then tell us a few things they've done) at the start and then nothing. Mum and I watched some of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (A film that inspired one of my stronger characters, a werewolf and her two companions; a kind of human scarecrow with a pumpkin for a head and a rather stuck up vampire). We got to my Aunt's to find that my cousin, John, and his family would be late because he went to watch the football at White Heart Lane. We ate, drank (I had lemonade) and talked. I got all of the little toys from the crackers because the others gave them to me. I got two tiny yoyo's, a giant paperclip, a trick called The Mystery Calculator And a little froggy thing that you flick and it moves.
John and his family finally arrived at 8:15ish (After he called to say he'd be there by 8). I have learned that, besides my older cousin Alistair, I'm the only one without a relevant partner (In my case boyfriend). Even John's daughter Hilary is seeing a boy and she's 1-2 years younger than me and my cousin Flo. Though a tad disappointing this news doesn't really bother me; I don't much care for men seeing as they're all lying, useless, cheating scum bags (Sorry guys). Perhaps someone decent will come along and change my mind but I doubt it.
We opened our presents from each other (I received a little bag with kittens on and a little envelope of money inside, a candle holder in the shape of a monkey and some scented tea light candles to put in it (That were supposed to be sherbet, so I was told) But I used it to stash a few Roses and Quality streets, that were on offer, to save for later (Because it's one of those with a little door at the back and the candle goes inside) I also got a WHSmith gift card and some scented stuff).
We spent the rest of the evening playing quiz games. It was fun.
Then we left after 12 and I watched some more of the DVD on the way home.
All in all it was a good day, I love seeing my family because we don't do it much because we're rather spread out.
Well, I'm tired and my stomach's feeling a little uncomfortable (Probably from the Doritos and trifle topping that I ingested towards the end).
