A ROLLING landscape immortalised by Sir Walter Scott will be 'wiped out' by a huge windfarm, campaigners warned yesterday.

They claim the unrivalled rugged beauty of the Auchencorth Moss, near Penicuik, will be destroyed if proposals for 18 giant turbines are given the go-ahead.

Pressure group Penicuik Environmental Protection Association (PEPA) is demanding that planning officials scrap proposals for the unspoilt land which moved one of Scotland's greatest novelists.
