Sir Walter Scott's "Ivanhoe" makes its North American premiere as a colorful six-hour miniseries on A&E Network starting Sunday at 8 p.m.

Steven Waddington stars in the title role as the dramatization, based on the classic novel, depicts life at the time of the Third Crusade. It also focuses on the era's idealism of chivalry and its often cruel and unyielding consequences.

At the core lies a story of love, courage and duty when Ivanhoe faces a conflict between his yearning for the Jewish healer Rebecca and his love for his childhood sweetheart, Lady Rowena. The A&E/BBC co-production also stars ...
