SIR Walter Scott's slippers and a death mask of the famous author are to go under the hammer in the city.
The footwear worn by Scott is expected to sell for around GBP 5000 and the mask around GBP 600, although experts say they could go for far more if a bidding war breaks out. The slippers were given to Scott in 1830. The death mask is believed to be one of a handful made of the writer after his death in 1832. It was previously part of a collection owned by novelist Sir Hugh Walpole.
The items will be sold at Shapes on Saturday.
