A LANDSCAPE designed and laid out by Sir Walter Scott almost two centuries ago will be destroyed if a new town is built in the Borders between Melrose and Galashiels, according to a new lobby group.
There has already been a considerable level of negative reaction following the revelation that Scottish Borders Council is considering agricultural land close to the region's main hospital at Huntlyburn for development.
