SIR Walter Scott's novel, Waverley concludes with the statement that, "There is no European nation which, within the course of half a century, or little more, has undergone so complex a change as this kingdom of Scotland." Although written in 1814 these words have never been more true than today.
And it has never been more true that with change comes opportunity.
We have lost our traditional industries such as coal, steel and shipbuilding, but devolution, market reforms, the European Union and globalisation offer Scotland opportunities in the information age.
