ASMY bus rounded the corner into George Square the other morning, I was delighted to see the city council had done us proud with the Christmas decorations. Then, suddenly, I realised that something was missing.
The Nativity was there, the Christmas tree, as usual, looked resplendent, bells swung from lampposts, angels in their rightful place, but still, something was missing.
"I don't belieeeve it", as Victor Meldrew would say. It's the statue of Sir Walter Scott. They've forgotten to give him his Christmas bow tie! Or maybe it's been borrowed by a Glasgow pigeon heading out on its Christmas ...
