Chapter Twenty-Nine

As Rebecca watched over her sleeping patient, she forgot the danger of
the moment. But when he awoke, the old coldness returned to Ivanhoe's eyes and
voice. She chastised herself for doting over this Gentile whose thoughts were
only of his father and Rowena. She told him what she knew of their prison, the
siege, and added that a priest was somewhere in the castle. On the slim chance
that the priest might be able to tell him something, Ivanhoe told his nurse to
