BUTNER -- Virgil Ray Kennedy Sr., 74, of Butner, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, at Granville Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Virgil was employed by Mebane Lumber Company until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nannie B. Kennedy; father, Stephen Kennedy; brothers, James and Doc Kennedy; sisters, Byah Brock, Tiffany Harriett, and Lois Parish; and stepson, Robbie Akers.
