Ozzie Virgil, who hit eight home runs in eight games and 11 this month for the Atlanta Braves, refuses to become excited by his sudden barrage. He remains as calm as he was this season when he was hitting about .100.

"I'm relaxed. I'm not pressing. If I get hits, that's fine," Virgil said after hitting his 14th homer of the season in Wednesday night's 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Asked if he worried when he was hitting .111 earlier in the season, Virgil replied: "Not really. You can't worry about that. I've been there before, so why worry?"
