Recreational plans blossoming in Virgil

VIRGIL - The second phase of the plan to convert the town of Virgil into a year-round sports and recreation hotspot will commence this August, says James J. Murphy, Jr., town supervisor.

Greek Peak ski resort will begin construction of a S35 million, 13,000square-foot conference center, 140-room hotel, and an indoor water park with an adjacent 18-hole golf course, says Allen Kryger, president and CEO of Peak Resorts, Inc., who coordinated the "master plan." The project will create 285 permanent jobs and should be completed in about 18 months, Kryger says.
