BOONE, Virgil C. Virgil C. Boone, 88, of Speedwell, Va., died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at his home. He was born in Grayson County, a son of the late John G. and Cora Elizabeth Hackler Boone. He was retired from the Va. Game and Inland Fisheries and the U.S. Forest Service with 38 years of service. Mr. Boone was also a retired Bank Director of the Bank of Speedwell, Premier Bank and First Va. Bank, S.W., for many years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge #226, A.F. and A.M. in Rural Retreat. He organized the Speedwell Volunteer Fire Department and served as ...
