Technical support firm vows 500 new jobs in Henry County, Va., over 2 years.

Aug. 10--HENRY COUNTY, Va. -- A StarTek official promised Monday to hire 500 call center employees within 30 months for a new Henry County facility and said the Denver-based company has never closed a call center to move jobs offshore.

"We're putting down roots, and we are here to stay," said Grant Lomas, StarTek's vice president of facilities, real estate and procurement.

Lomas' promise of jobs, a $5 million investment and stability elicited applause from a press conference crowd that included Gov. Mark Warner, Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Rocky Mount, ...
