Shakespeare Theater to make 'em laugh and cry

There's a comedy ("The Merry Wives of Windsor"), a morality play ("Measure for Measure") and a tragedy ("Romeo and Juliet") on tap next season at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier.

There also will be a touch of the Irish, as the Dublin-based Abbey Theatre, the national theater of Ireland that is now celebrating its 100th anniversary, pays a visit to Chicago with its production of J.M. Synge's 1907 classic "The Playboy of the Western World."
