FOR the first time Ireland's largest arts festival will be launched from a
venue outside of Ireland.

Irish Tourism Minister John O'Donoghue will attend the launch of the Galway
Arts Festival next week at a reception in New York City.

The annual Galway festival is known for creating new types of performance.
This year, the Druid Theater will perform all the plays of J.M. Synge at
the same time.

Founded in 1978, the Galway Arts Festival is Ireland's most popular arts
festival. It will take place this year from July 11-24 and include hundreds
of writers, artists, performers and ...
