Tinker's Wedding, The
(1909), a comedy by J. M. Synge , set in Wicklow. It received its first production in London in 1909, W. B. Yeats having decided not to present it at the Abbey , as it was likely to antagonize Catholic and nationalist sensibilities already outraged by The Playboy of the Western World (1907).
