THE new kid on the block proved to be one of the most popular attractions at the third annual Doors Open Winnipeg.

The event, organized by Heritage Winnipeg, gives citizens a glimpse of some of city's historical gems.

This year, Ralph Connor House was added to the list of more than 40 heritage buildings open to the public.

Built in 1914, the stately manor at 54 West Gate, which is now home to the University Women's Club of Winnipeg, saw a steady stream of people.

"It's just been non-stop," said coordinator Sylvia Marsh, who estimated the house would get about 400 visitors.
