One of Britain's most widely travelled Ford Mondeos will roll into the region next week, dragging what surely must be the most widely travelled 24ft rowing boat.

In the car ( and later in the boat ( will be the actor and enthusiastic oarsman Rodney Bewes, surely one of the most widely travelled... well, you get the picture.

Rodney, still best known as one half of The Likely Lads (Bob to James Bolam's Terry), really ought to be much better known as a modern champion of the writer Jerome K Jerome.
