The television and stage star is performing On The Stage and Off: The Brief Career of a Would-Be Actor at The Everyman, Cheltenham. The show is about writer Jerome K Jerome's early years in Victorian touring theatre.
Rodney, who adapted the tale from Jerome's book, says: "This first book was very poorly received - until he wrote Three Men in a Boat and then they said 'what a shame it wasn't as good as his first book'."
