When Rodney Bewes arrives in Bath on Sunday to present a solo performance at the Theatre Royal Bath he will be driving a Ford Mondeo and towing a trailer that holds his props and scenery.
With him will be his wife "poor Daphne" who accompanies him on all his tours.
He says "I need two tecchies in the theatre to help me build the set and then, later, while I'm signing autographs, Daphne packs up. That's why she's 'poor Daphne'."
The former Likely Lad, who will be 70 at the end of this month, will be performing a solo adaptation of Jerome K Jerome's first book On the Stage - And Off.
