Still another book on the life of David Herbert Lawrence? By now, he may have been the subject of more biographies than any other writer of this century, rivaling James Joyce and Virginia Woolf.

Here we have the ingredients of a Horatio Alger, rags-to-riches tale. Not that Lawrence became rich, although certainly he won for himself world attention.
