When he's not portraying James Joyce, David Norris is busy living a life that would have intrigued the Irish literary genius. Norris is a member of the Irish Senate -- and what's more, the first openly gay politician to hold that position. He's a professor at Dublin's Trinity College. And as a human-rights activist, he's been smuggled into Chinese-occupied Tibet and arrested trying to enter East Timor.
