University of Maine at Farmington issued the following news release:

Thursday, Oct. 12, marks the inaugural Joyce Day celebration at the University of Maine at Farmington in which guest speakers, faculty, students, and the general public will come together to celebrate the life and artistic accomplishments of this pioneer of literary modernism.

"Joyce is an important writer," said Dan Gunn, chairperson and professor of English. "His work is fun and it is important for people to have access to it in as many ways as possible."
