E.M. Forster's 'The Road From Colonus' is believed to have a hidden calendrical reference to Lord Byron's death to emphasize the pathetic survival of Forster's protagonist, Mr. Lucas. Lord Byron's death on Apr. 19, 1824 created a huge impact on the English public, particularly London's literati. From the time of the novelist's death up to the present, his loss is being memorialized yearly in the UK's premier newspaper, the 'Times' of London.
