Young theater vet takes on `Pinocchio'

He was superb as the Ghost of Christmas Past. He was as broadly funny as his idol, Lucille Ball, when he played the Grand Vizier in "Aladdin." He was the lead in "Androcles." Now he's ready for his biggest role to date.

Tom Bourque, a severely hearing impaired 14-year-old West Roxbury boy, is portraying Geppetto, Pinocchio's father, in this weekend's all-children production of Timothy Mason's musical adaptation of Carlo Collodi's 1881 classic at Suffolk University's C. Walsh Theatre at 55 Temple St. in Boston.
