Follow your nose to Jonathan Dove's new musical version of Carlo Collodi's tale of the wooden boy who would be good if it weren't for the fact that he can't help sniffing out trouble. Dove and the playwright Alasdair Middleton have fulfilled a Christmas wish with Opera North to turn the story of Pinocchio into an opera for all ages. Think marionette dances, fairground rides, assassins, remorse and reconciliation. According to Dove, "It's all a gift for a composer".
