WALT DISNEY turned it into one of the world's best loved children's stories.
But city audiences are to be offered a whole new take on the Pinocchio story thanks to the Lyceum Theatre's artistic director, Mark Thomson, and his eight-year-old daughter, Millie.
The story of the wooden boy puppet who longs to be human was originally written by the Italian author Carlo Collodi in the 19th century.
Mr Thomson, a former Royal Shakespeare Company assistant director, wanted to create a version closer to the darker original than the Disney film of 1940.
