Mar. 22--NORFOLK -- Former Norfolk State and NFL defensive back Ron Bolton is the new head football coach at Booker T. Washington High School. Bolton replaces Larry Stepney, who stepped down in January after 15 seasons as the Bookers' head coach. Stepney guided the Bookers to three Eastern District championships, the last in 2003. Bolton, 56, played in the NFL with the New England Patriots from 1972-76 and for the Cleveland Browns from '76-'82. He returned to Norfolk State in '97 as the Spartans' defensive backs coach.
