Jul. 30--The company developing 57 acres next to the Booker T. Washington National Monument has added to its plans an approximately 8-acre buffer between the plantation and the development.
Phillips Development planned the buffer in response to concerns that the development will disrupt the atmosphere on the former plantation where the black American icon was born into slavery.
