Booker T. Washington High School opened a week of poetry reading Monday with recitations and discussions by renowned poet and spoken-word artist Hank Stewart.

Stewart, a self-published writer began writing poetry in 1991 and released his first book of verse, "The Answer," in 1993. With seven highly claimed books of verse to his credit, he has been called "one of the nation's best poets." After publishing "Second Chance," Stewart began to transform his work into the spoken word. He's a member of the contemporary R&B/jazz ensemble ...
