Just two short months ago, the spry 78-year-old grand daughter of Booker T.
Washington was a guest in the Inland Empire, Sunday, January 6, Mrs.
Washington-Johnson passed away after a short illness. She was on a mission
to clarify some of the misunderstanding surrounding her late grandfather.

After the 1895 speech in Atlanta, many African Americans felt the famous
leader had sold out his people for advocating, "Cast down your bucket where
you are"; this had prompted much discussion through the years.
