NORFOLK -- After a week in which he watched his wrestlers undergo two-a-day practices with a fervor unmatched all season, Booker T. Washington coach Robert Toran told everybody who would listen that his team was "ready to do something special.''

Saturday, his Bookers delivered as promised.

Led by dominant performances from their heavy hitters and solid contributions throughout the lineup, the Bookers captured their first Eastern District wrestling title in school history Saturday at Lake Taylor.
