But in "The Jane Austen Book Club," it surfaces in a contemporary setting.

Led by Prudie (Kathy Baker), the members realize their emotional lives are following the characters in Austen's six novels. Also starring are Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Lynn Redgrave, Nancy Travis, Hugh Dancy, Jimmy Smits and Marc Blucas.
