A PLAY adapted from Lysistrata, an ancient Greek tragedy by Aristophanes, centred on women power, is to open on Women's Day, August 9.

It will run until August 12 at the Courtyard Theatre in Mansfield Road, on the Berea campus of the Durban University of Technology.

The piece is titled Sis'Strata In Da Hood and, staged by DIT's Department of Drama Studies, will be directed by Robin Singh.

The original Greek story revolved around the role played by women in stopping on-going Grecian war.
