The Knights (424 B.C.)

Background:

The Knights also won the first prize for Aristophanes, and this time a
play was produced under his own name. Of the eleven extant plays of
Aristophanes, however, this one is the poorest. It lacks humorous episodes and
taste, and is more of an attack on Cleon than anything else. It is juvenile
and vitriolic, with only a few small scenes of any worth.
