Ok so are some of you as bad as me?
eating at the keyboard?
right now I'm having lunch, toasted sammich with tomato--fresh from my garden!, with garlic aioli, and lemonade :D

Yep, I'm eating at my keyboard. I brought in a buffalo chicken salad but I had to run up to the store during lunch and the chicken tender lunch special caught my eye. I'm having chicken tenders with a side of mac and cheese and a nectarine.

I am thinking that everyone pretty much eats at the keyboard ('cept my fiance and he is a computer tech)

Well, I have mayonnaise covered hands typing. I am drinking (switching) between a strawberry mango smoothie and a coca cola.

We're all bad, gumming up the keys and spilling and crumb making.

It's not just me that I have to worry about, I'm a pretty neat eater, it's my kids! The worst is my youngest, who's favorite snack is...raw oatmeal! And you would not believe how messy that kid is when he eats. I'm picking out oatmeal from the keyboard for days after he's been in here with it, which, incidentally, he knows he's not supposed to be but he still manages to sneak it in here once in a while.

Heck that's easy to clean up, may I suggest a can of Falcon's® Professional Dust-Off® compressed air

It's the greasy sticky stuff like smeared salad dressing, semi-dried ice cream, and gummy fruit juice that's harder to clean up. My favourite cleaning weapons for that are wet naps, q-tips and vinegar :)

I have a geek friend who won't go near my keyboard because they think its shameful to eat while surfing. haha!

I'm eating sour jubes and they leave a greasy film on your fingers!

You mean there are actually people out there who don't eat while using the computer??? Shocking! :brow: :brow: :p

Just for that I am going to make some popcorn with tons of butter and salt and drink some soda, too. (I like Diet Coke, not because it is diet---though that should be the reason given my pant's size...nope, I like it because it isn't syrupy sweet like regular Coke. Now I am sure that is a fascinating piece of trivia! :D )

I usually try not to eat around my computer (especially my laptop), never risking my occasional clumsiness. Regardless, at the moment, I have a nice cup of coffee - Stumptown brand (yum!) - slightly more expensive, but when coffee seems as essential as oxygen, I will pay a greater price! :D

Starbucks Icecream with a can of coke. Oh man...this is not a tasty combination!

I remember when I was a kid, I used to add milk to my pepsi, I claimed it tasted just like a float but now when I think of it, it just sounds disgusting, much like starbucks ice cream and a coke. ;)

I'm drinking some licorice coffee, even though it's supposed to be something crazy like 108 degrees today but it's only 75 this morning so it doesn't seem quite so wrong yet.

coke--> ice cream/milk, yeah, doesn't sound too palatable, and what the heck is licorice coffee? that sounds like a very odd combo too.. the only thing I add to my coffee sometimes is chocolate or cinnamon.

It is so hot and humid here I'm only drinking water with lemon because I think I will be sick if I eat anything

... and what the heck is licorice coffee? that sounds like a very odd combo too.. the only thing I add to my coffee sometimes is chocolate or cinnamon.

It's black licorice flavored coffee, the beans are flavored, I don't have to add anything. I used to be able to get it at a local coffee shop but they stopped carrying it so now I have to order it from the internet but this stuff isn't nearly as licorice..y and I'm a little disappointed. I love anything with the flavor of black licorice, an aberration I inherited from my dad. ;)

kathycf
07-15-2006, 01:47 PM
Oh my, licorice flavored coffee? *shudder* I cannot bear flavored coffee, just cream and sugar for me. :brow: Although I do love iced coffee, which some coffee purists may frown on because it isn't served piping hot. I just finished my coffee and seeing as I have been up for several hours and haven't eaten yet...it is time for cherries! Only in season for a little while --at least here in Massachusetts--where by the way,it is also hot and humid, just like where you guys are ;) .

Oh my, licorice flavored coffee? *shudder* I cannot bear flavored coffee, just cream and sugar for me.

Now see, I don't care for cream and sugar but I loved flavored coffee. Right now in my fridge, I have almond amaretto, emerald cream, the licorice of course and some kind of vanilla nut thing that I don't actually much care for but the others I love and I just finished off a pound of a coconut/madacamia coffee that is incredible. My dad is like you though, he hates flavored coffees so whenever he and my mom come for a visit, it's just plain old foldgers...well...not actually Foldgers but you know what I mean.

And right now I'm eating peanut M&Ms and as usual, a coke.

You're right about E-coli, it's them ! :flare: They have started to chlorinate the water, and it should be okay in a couple of days (or so they say...)
The water source is local ground water, as far as I know. I heard that something is wrong with an UV-device that is used to purify the water of certain undesirable bacteria. But now E-coli is developing, is that logical  ?
But hey, in case you're an expert, feel to come to fix it, you'd be the hero of a whole village :D

Yeah e-coli is a huge problem. If the UV disinfection device isnt working you'll get a lot more than just e-coli in your water. The chlorination process should fix things up pretty quickly, however with this being the second outbreak in such a short period of time they should go to strict continuous chlorine treatment and residual monitoring until the UV channel problem can be adequately fixed.

I agree with you that the sour yoghurt simple one, in our language, which is called "Dehi" is better than this sweet yoghurt. I usually eat Dehi and it was the first time I tasted this sweet one and it can't be mixed with anything else, while on the other hand, Dehi looks amazingly good with rice.
