 you are far too kind. I really do feel sorry for you, I've had those nights of taking care of a sick child when you are already exhausted from the day, argh. My dad used to give us this concoction of warm brandy, honey and lemon. It used to knock us out so we'd sleep through the night at least. Baba ganoush or Babaghanoush (in Arabic, بابا غنوج) is the name of two popular Middle Eastern dishes made primarily of eggplant (aubergine).

In the Levant, baba ganoush is a sort of salad made of grilled eggplant with finely diced onions, tomatoes and other vegetables blended in. It is normally served with a dressing of oil and pomegranate concentrate.

In Egypt, baba ganoush is a paste made of roast or grilled eggplant and tahini, a paste made from sesame seeds. This dish is known as mutabbal in the Levant. Traditionally, the eggplant is first roasted in an oven for approximately 45 minutes. The softened flesh is scooped out, squeezed to remove excess water, and is then pureed with the tahini. There are many variants of the recipe, especially the seasoning. Possible seasonings include garlic, lemon juice, ground cumin, salt, mint, and parsley. When served on a plate or bowl, it is traditional to drizzle the top with olive oil.

This is a healthy snack that can be eaten in a variety of ways, including as a dip with whole wheat bread or crackers, spread on pita, or added to other dishes. It is usually of an earthy light brown color.

Mmm. The version I find in my local grocer is more of the Egyptian kind. It is sort of like Hummus which is also yummy.

it is ....but what that doesnt tell you is that egplants are liable to explode if not pierced properly before puuting in to roast:nod:

Hula Hoops are a packet of crisps, you probably call the chips in the states, that are circular and have a hole in them. When i was little i used to put them on my fingers like rings and eat that way. I think you can only get them in ireland and Britain.

Yes, I have, typical banana leaf dinners you will get in South India, in the North it is usually without the leaves, but very tasty indeed. I have pickels every now and then, these tase good with paratha's, I dont think these can be called as a dish.

Uhm. Yes to the bacon, no to the Swiss cheese. We use Parmesan ( "Parmigiano", an Italian cheese). (No to the onions either, though I've seen it being used in slightly different recipes.)

Blood test?? anything serious??

No when you reach my age you go for an annual physical. This was my first, and everything is fine. I don't have the blood test results back yet.

Doctor sucked at stickng the needle. First he jabbed my left arm and he couldn't find the vein and he kept poking around. Then he asked if I was ok and I said yes, but it was hurting. So then he pulls the needle out and goes to my right arm where he hurt again but he did find the vein. He was not skilled at this.

It is definetly good to be drinking lots of water when you are on a diet. French bread is alright if eaten in proportion and with a balance of other foods ( plenty of fruits and veggies along with lean protein like legumes ,nuts, and fish) ,it's especially good if it is a wholemeal french bread. And also if it isnt eaten with cholesterol filled condiments like butter or cream, maybe instead some olive oil or pesto would be best. :)Good luck with it ktd!

Not neccesarily.
1) It depends on the type of salt, raw sea salt is not bad for you but too much processed salt(or even waaaay too much organic sea salt) can lead to disorders like hypertension.
2) Nuts are very healthy in general, but peanuts(especially if not organic and containing lots of additives) are relatively not so great. This is only compared to really great nuts though, like almonds and pecans.
3) Orange juice is great, if not laced with lots of sugar. The fresh, not concentrated stuff is the best of course :)

Sorry...*is being an obnoxious health nut* Just like to spread nutrition info when I can :)

Tis fine! I never ever try to convince people to change their diet for the sake of someone else. What I do try to promote is healthy living in general though, and also a healthier earth. Just as consideration for future generations :) And even if one doesn't want to change at all it is always nice to have some extra knowledge.
