Here's a site (http://www.englishteastore.com/chaitea.html) describing what it is, it's very, very good! I never add milk though, you can get Chai lattes which aren't bad but I prefer just plain old chai tea.

Chai (Hindi for tea) and tea mean the same thing in India. Here it is made from water, tea leaves, milk and sugar.

Madhuri and Idril, actually I asked what Chai means because I was kinda surprised that it's called in other langauages as in my native langauge. In Arabic the tea is called Chai. There are alot of words that are shared between Hindu lang an Arabic.

Ya I like macchiatos because I don't like a lot of milk  my understanding of a 'traditional' one is a shot of espresso and just a 'dash' of milk or foam, more than about a third of milk and you're into cappuccino. My mochaccino I make at home is basically a shot of espresso with a dash of milk and shot of chocolate :p

A nice cup of Earl Grey tea rescued from the garbage heap by the watchful eyes and deft hands of yours truly (he says whilst spilling tea all over himself).
Sorry about your flu, Logos. I have a friend who claims that ginger tea will solve that problem in ridiculously large doses. Take this advice with a grain of salt, as my friend is very into herbology. She claims to know of certain plants that can kill cancerous tumors. I've seen her produce tea out of nothing but a cup of hot water and a lawn.

How did the tea end in the garbage?
In the hazy aftermath of flu, I've ventured to a little apple sauce and bland rice with boiled chicken :cold: though heck ya to avoid that all again I would try anything and I love ginger, I have some, maybe if I boil some in water? or grate it into the rice, I've heard that ginger is good for upset stomach.

Oh geeze and here I am .. the first thought that came to mind was you sitting there in Starbucks waiting patiently and.. oh nevermind  I have seen the incredibly vast amounts of perfectly good food removed from grocery shelves because of expiration dates, some of it goes to food banks, I guess companies are just `protecting themselves' though its a bit of overkill.

My husband works at a grocery warehouse and if a box falls and gets damaged in some way, they not only get rid of the box, but all it's contents as well which seems absolutely ridiculous to me, however, we do sometimes get some free stuff from it so I suppose I shouldn't complain. ;)
You're making me hungry (thirsty?) for tea now, Cuppajoe, I think I'm going to have to go get me some to go with my whole grain wheat thins, although I think I'm going to go with licorice tea instead of Earl Grey.

Grocery stores throw away enormous amounts of food. If a package is damaged in shipping we throw away the contents and send back the packaging for a refund. I had to dispose of a 10kg bag of sugar with a small tear in it. In that particular case, however, I gave the sugar to a couple of fellow staff members, who then had to walk home, past the police station, carying five killograms of a white powdery substance in unmakred transparent bags.

everything boiled....not spices.......:D
sorry, my bad, forgot to add that my dad also added salt, pepper, and other spices.. names escape me...
He also put everything in a pot, turned on the stove, put the said ingredients, brought it into a boil added salt and pepper, mixed with the best ingredient--Love.
Put in a plate, with rice and a bowl of soup, got the spoon and fork and put it in my mouth, ground by my teeth, tasted with my tongue, said"Yum" a couple of times, swallowed, Then the food went to my throat and trachea and pharynx and larynx- got them mixed up, I know, but who cares... then to my intestine and small intestine and eventually...Who knows Where.
