a double post has the fawx pax of the wearing cash when entering LAX or taking laxatives during class or using an axe to remove a splinter the rat with big whiskey-covered whiskers is a prime name for a cat without any manners.
What else could you call an alarm clock without digits in a digitalized world? We all know that premarital interdigitation is a sin. Yes, that is hand-holding.
What could we decide to introduce into this new paradigm today? Is it a pyrmoidial soup? What else could we dream of while we refuse to sleep? Could we intercede on behalf of those who do not wish to take the burden upone their own shoulders? To intervene for the lazy in the world of tomorrow where sky captains fly off into the wild blue yonder ocean over there is the nation's only polluted resourcefullness into the sea if they decide not to decide to the absolute precinct which they have authority over and under and all around the canabis plant.
I have to decide when to end it, or do I? I could always go on and on like the energizer battery bunney.
Have you ever seen a bunny clubbing? They circle like shark attack dun dun dun baby shark dun dun dun momma shark dun dun dun daddy shark. THere's a swimmer dun dun dun and he's swimming with one bleeding arm right now but before he succums to the firey pain impulses, his dendrites go on strike and he passes out into the water and holds his breath until he decides to gulp water into his lungs just to spite the grinning chimpanzee.

a mark bubblebath, which digresses from the normal method of clensing is going to have to surprise the people who make icecream while the cough drop is planted firmly in my cheek. THe girl at the front counter was astonished enough to let me use her phone and call the man for coffee so i could have an excuse to ask the other one to the coffee shop without any embarrassment if rejecting the sole purpose of my existance came to be without any hub-ub from the usual crowd of sympathisers and the misers without the visors or the advisors and no one was the wiser.

has marking lost its popularity among the plebian boxer shorts? or has the naturalistic angst in the peer pressure groups in washington decided to tower of london over us all?
Why don't we all decide on a theme for next tuesday so we can mix and match the sulfur and friction explosives together? We need blasting caps

It seems a lot of people canty see me as a she ... even those who can see me or rather they have it in their minds that I am unsuited to be a girl...
Cant understand why I wera skirst and okay I tend to favour mens shirts and cloomping around in builders steel toe boots but thats not really an excuse is it??
Once my at the time favourate teacher stood me up in front of the entire class and told me off and said as how I had no right to be messy and disorganised as I was a GIRL and I cound asct like a Boy and if he didnt know better he would say I was one and I did have a right to be a girl if I was that messy etc etc etc pity we didnt know I was dyslexic at the time!
But it was really embarrising for a 12 year old to be talked to like that infront of a class of sort of symapthetic girls and sneering boys.
Mind you some of them may have had a reason to dislike me I was prone to taking dictionarys to the heads of boys who fell a sleep during english after forgetting their books and the teacher ( my mum) made them share with me

Please re-read Scher's above post if you're wondering why your posts have been deleted. :)[/QUOTE]
Scher's post requests that people respect the Forum Rules and common courtesy.
Starting with the Forum Rules, I'm pretty sure that the deleted posts were neither "obscene" nor "vulgar" nor "sexually-oriented" nor "hateful" (even if a little resentful) nor "threatening" nor "otherwise violative of any laws". There was some mild "flaming" going on but I don't think anyone got sufficiently seriously burned to warrent the deletion of posts. "Baiting", I assume, refers to when people probe away at the temper of another messageboard member with the sole purpose of drawing from them an angry tirade. Again, I don't think this was happening. I don't know what "trolling" is so perhaps someone might be kind enough to explain it. I suppose there may or may not have been trolling going on - I don't know - but I'd like to think that there wasn't.
As for common courtesy, I don't think this term can be reasonably taken to mean unerring and absolute civility. There was clearly some friction occurring but it was all in good spirit and can be considered constructive personal criticism. Life's pretty boring when everyone's super-nice to everyone else all the time, and I would have thought that in a situation like this, which is devoid of normal human relations (and these aren't normal human relations), that constant super-niceness is even less in people's best interests. I'm not saying that people should be having a go at each other for no reason but if there's substance to the personal criticism and it's funny or insightful and not genuinely hurtful then I'm all for it where it's due. I really hope that people on here don't consider other users to be real friends. The real point of these messageboards is, in my opinion, to have a laugh by getting involved with a bit of interesting and/or funny discussion, and this will inevitably involve posts which are slightly provocative. I don't see why even the slightest hint of subversiveness should be clamped down on as if it precluded any possibiliy of civilised discussion.
The high-minded, pretentious, and overly serious tone that almost completely pervades this forum renders it an astonishingly joyless place. Ironically, it appears to be populated for the most part by college students who should be having fun but instead seem intent on foisting their intellect on other users, never missing an opportunity to back up their inane, vapid comments with quotations or to otherwise display their erudition like monkeys displaying their genitalia. I understand that this is a literature forum and its users, who are of an intellectual bent, want to talk about literature. But if there's absolutely no edge or humour to the discussion then it's just boring. Life's too short to be forever worrying about whether the things you do and say make you appear thoughtful enough. I want to come into forums like this and have a laugh and I can't believe that others don't feel the same.
Please don't delete this; it would be annoying and counter-productive.

I couldnt post this in the right thread for lots of reasons so here it is a few words I found interesting.
Flaming- (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming) is the performance "art" of posting messages that are deliberately hostile and insulting in the social context of a discussion board (usually on the Internet). Such messages are called flames, and are often posted in response to flamebait. Flaming is one of a class of economic problems known as The Tragedy of the Commons, when a group holds a resource (in this case, communal attention), but each of the individual members has an incentive to overuse it.
Troll - (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll) From the fishing term. As a noun, synonymous with flamebait. As a verb, to post controversial or provocative messages in a deliberate attempt to provoke flames.
Flamebait (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamebait) or trollbait is a message posted to an Internet discussion group, such as a newsgroup or a mailing list, with the intent of provoking an angry response (a "flame"). Various motives or explanations can be sought for this puzzling behavior; the desire for attention and the desire for entertainment at others' expense are two leading motives.
In other words to troll to bait and to flamebait/trollbait are all the same thing.
I love finding out new things:D
Next thing anyone know anything about the Tragedy of Commons Google is not being very helpful!
I'm not saying that people should be having a go at each other for no reason but if there's substance to the personal criticism and it's funny or insightful and not genuinely hurtful then I'm all for it where it's due. I really hope that people on here don't consider other users to be real friends.
Who be the judge of what's considered 'funny or insightful and not genuinely hurtful'?
I beg your pardon, some members DO consider other members REAL friends.
There's nothing about having to be super-nice mentioned in the rules, but being nice doesn't hurt. First try to get to know a person's approach to having people being nice to them and then decide to try doing the 'funny' thing, it's safer, you never know how would a person defend him/herself. I'm not one to defend 'political corectness' but it'll be nice not having members attacking each other. If you start off calling people names and then hope for civilised discussion...
You can have an 'edge of humour' even on an intellectual forum. There's room for both both serious and fun topics, wow, even on a literature forum.
I have no idea why your last post should be deleted, doesn't happen too often here anyway. This is a moderated forum and some posts get edited or deleted if the mods/admin think it'll do with some editing and/or deleting. If you stick around longer and won't try to 'display your genitals' by testing how much offensive you can be until they notice and do something about it, you might even like the forum.

Additionally to boatrafting, the Oxford and Cambridge university have also contested in writing limericks. There was one compulsory element: Timbuktu, that had to be in their limericks.
The Cambridge team:
Raging through the desert sand
Came an endless caravan
Man and camel, two by two
Destination Timbuktu
The Oxford team:
Tim and I huntin went
Passing by a hookers' tent
They where 3 and we were 2
So I booked 1 and Tim booked 2

Well, it wasn't specified.
But we'll think that we'll choose "La Belle Dame sans Merci"
We like it and it is not so long as the others
Also we are a bit confused - the literature teacher said that it would be extra nice if it were unmodified, genuine - does it mean untranslated also?
For actually i have nothing against Keats translated in Estonian - it has been done quite skilfully. And it is easier to remember. And perhaps, it was meant that it would be in Estonian.
Ah, it is so confusing.
We guess that we'll learn it in english (we have got quite an amazing memory for some things, actually) and perhaps find an exerpt of another poem in estonian.
I met a lady on the meads
Full beautiful - a faery's child
Her hair was long, her foot was light
and her eyes were wild

what exactly is strange?. if someone like say jack black showed up at the Boston symphony and played his brand of music would they think him strange? If a girl seated herself at a desk at university wearing a bunny suit and a groucho marx pair of glasses would she be thought strange if the room plus the professor were serious criminal lawyers. what is strange and who decides it?.
i guess that will have to be my mark as i confess i don't really know what that means either. a mark as in watermark, or signature or sentence to be remembered by?

Well, it's a good thing I'm a vegetarian, but if someone was trying to plot something, at least you would be invisible to the sharks.;)I think you deserve to be a flying duck- it's good for exercise.....those little ducks can get a bit on the chubby side with all those wildberry pies;).Maby Night will grant you a pair of ethereal wings as a truce. It's much harder to walk around the deck than in your old form....

An additional ultimatum/gentle reminder: if you like me as a duck, I hope you also like having that "I'm being watched" feeling every time you're short on clothing. :brow: ;)
If you don't know how to change me back, then I suggest you look it up or find a proper magician to fix this mess.

Glad to see you have recovered, Robin. That rum added to my wildberry pie by an a sly someone (I suspect the intruder who has hopped unboard in secret) as a dare appears to have messed with my faery skills and disturbed the transformation.I've finally figured it all out.So now I'm going to bed to sleep off this intoxication.Goodnight:)

Gee, Night, I didn't know you cared...oh, and apparently, the bonds between previous forms and current ones are more tenuous than you imagined...:D
~using his newly gained powers, Robin shapeshifts into the fearsome Rubber Ducky, causing Nightshade to suddenly fall on her bum, with no more harm done to himself than a squeeze and a squeak~
Nightshade
12-04-2005, 12:22 PM

~squirms out from beneath Night's bum (now there's a scary thought) and shifts back to the Emerald Archer's form. With a wink ;) and a smirk at Shade, he fires a Grappling Hook Arrow and is standing atop the mainmast in seconds~

"Allnőlva Sarapikus" or "In Downslope Hazelbosk" as we translated it.
It is a song by Kait Tamra and it listening it cuts just so deep that we had to translate it and try to share it with you, because there are some things one cannot bear alone.
In downslope hazelbosk
whitethroat chirrs
Strangeness of the clouds
from up holds you be
Time goes over the slope
partness , admission.
stone is hard no more
lindel speaks the truth
Last cow was Tsilla
Las dog was Krants
Feet first over the bridge
Meeta first, then Ants
feet first over the bridge
Meeta first, then Ants
Whom do you cover, roof?
What do you brush, broom?
For whom do you ripen, berries?
clack, handlooms?
Time goes over everything
time pushes the walls apart
Remains a woodpecker's cry
falcon's shriek from the marsh
Remains a woodpecker's cry
falcon's shriek from the marsh
Somewhere a hammer is beating,
everything is connected to everything
for we to remain together
smells vernal grass in hand
For this farm not go out
a sure place that would stay
Way and bridge and heath
heather, silence and resin
Way and bridge and heath
heather, silence and resin.
For a gate somewhere to stay
home that waits ahead
for those who are long away
for those who are long on the way
for those who are long away
for those who are long,
long on their way

Now yev'e got it, if all members post here, this'll be a record for some future forumarchiologist as to the inner workings of this forums cultural collective. :D
maybe we can turn this into a reveered sticky...or make it its own topic heading or something special to remember all those who left before us blazing a trail in pioneering this forum. :D ...just a suggestion.
