The Young Carthaginian

Another of those wonderful historical fiction pieces produced from the pen of G.A. Henty. The story is set on the eve of and the time during the second Punic War between Carthage and Rome. The Hero of the story is Malchus, a young Carthaginian of upper-class status. He goes through many adventures during the Punic War and eventually has to make a crucial decision between loyalty to his country and his love of freedom. I highly recommend this book to all readers, for it provides insightful information on one of History's most influential battles while being thoroughly enjoyable to read.--Submitted by Dirk O'Grady
