I was signing some of my cat novel paperbacks the other day in The Torbay Bookshop. In the Long Dark is a kind of feline Romeo and Juliet romance that excludes tragedy.

The first edition was published as a hardback throughout the English speaking world by Century Hutchinson. It was re-published in 2007 by Torbay Books. In 2005, my first novel, A Black Fox Running, was acknowledged as one of the classic books about the British countryside, and I was stunned to find myself sharing the list with William Wordsworth, Thomas Hardy, Samuel Coleridge, Emily Bronte, George Borrow, Flora Thompson, W ...
