William Wordsworth
One of the great defining figures of the Romantic movement in nineteenth century English poetry, William Wordsworth infused his works and greatly influenced his fellow-poets with an exuberant appreciation for nature, stemming from his travels in the French Alps and life-long love for the Lake District of England. The Lyrical Ballards, collected Poems and autobiographical The Prelude are among his best known works.
